If you are sharing your YouTube videos, it is best to embed the video directly on your website and share a link directly to the page that contains your video. This will help drive traffic to your website.  If you don’t have the option to embed a video on your website, the next best thing is to share a YouTube pop out video link.

What is a Pop Out video link and Why You Should Use It

A YouTube pop out video link will play a video in its own pop out window without all of the distracting videos that appear alongside the video in its normal YouTube page. The reason we suggest using it is because when you send a viewer to a standard YouTube video page, they are tempted to click on other videos and are likely to be distracted from your call to action.

How to create a Pop Out Video Link

If you are using Google Chrome as your browser, you can right click on the YouTube video, click Pop out and the video pops out in its own window. However, we have found that if you try to share this link with viewers who aren’t using Google Chrome as their browser, the video will not play. If you are using Internet Explorer as your browser, the pop out video feature no longer works at all. So how do you create a working pop out video link? Easy! Copy the text below and add your YouTube video ID# immediately after the equal sign to create a link.

The YouTube video ID# can be found in your video share link directly after the last forward slash (/). For example, in the YouTube link: http://youtu.be/jHL7F0DIEB0, the Video ID# is jHL7F0DIEB0.
