Windows 7 Users – Are you missing your old “Quick Launch” icons?

Windows 7 does not have a Quick Launch bar. If you need the Quick Launch bar back like it was in Vista and XP follow these steps.  How to bring back the Quick Launch bar in Windows 7

  1. Right click the Desktop, click New Folder and call it “Quick Launch”
  2. Right click a neutral area of your taskbar, and uncheck Lock the Taskbar.
  3. Right click a neutral area of your taskbar, click Toolbars, New Toolbar.
  4. Find and select (not double click) the newly created Quick Launch folder on your desktop
  5. Copy and paste this address into the address bar above.

  6. Click on the Select Folder button
  7. Now you’ll see Quick Launch in your taskbar. Drag the Quick Launch bar to the left
  8. Drag your favorite icons to the Quick Launch bar
  9. Right click the Quick Launch bar and deselect Show Text and Show Title.

And now you have the Quick Launch bar from Vista or XP.

    This fix only lasts as long as my laptop remains on. The shortcuts disappear from the Quick Launch folder on the desktop on the next restart and the the shortcuts diasppear from the Quick Launch toolbar on the next restart. Any ideas on a permanent workaround?
